The Abbey Restaurant

There’s views over Mounts Bay from the contemporary stone coloured first floor dining room from this converted nightclub neat the Cornish coast. Chef proprietor Ben Tunnicliffe supports local suppliers (there’s even wine from the nearby Camel Valley) so expect plenty of Cornish goodies on the regularly changing menu. Start with grilled fillet of mackerel, crispy polenta with onion, tomato and pesto compote or an earthy pigeon and pork terrine. Fishy main courses include the luxurious combination of steamed john dory & turbot, crushed new potatoes, buttered spinach and shellfish cream and roast monkfish tail with a pea and pancetta risotto. Pre-dinner drinks can be taken in the red- themed ground floor bar.
