Tatlers Restaurant

The three rooms that make up this lively brasserie-style 19th century townhouse restaurant have scrubbed pine tables and period features. Most of the ingredients used by chef Brendan Ansbro are sourced locally but the menu covers are far wider geographical area, spanning Thailand, Japan, France, the Middle East and Britain. To start, hot smoked salmon is paired with wakame, cucumber and wasabe; crispy Thai fillet of beef salad with crushed peanuts and Cornish scallops with morcilla and sweet and sour leeks. Spiced lamb rump with chargrilled vegetables and charmoula or beef fillet with mushroom and bacon ragout with Savoy cabbage and Madeira sauce might follow.
