A former dower house tucked away in the Dorset Downs, this is classic English country house hotel territory. The chintzy yet elegant dining room overlooks the hotel’s charming grounds with the best views from the cosy conservatory. Chef Steve Titman brings with him impressive credentials having cooked in one of America’s most highly rated hotel restaurants. Expect serious gastronomy in the form of an assiette of foie gras that includes a ballottine, brûlée and bonbon. Main courses might include local sea bass fillet with English asparagus, artichoke, Jersey royals and champagne foam. For a real blow out, go for the seven course degustation menu. The 1500 bin wine list is overseen by award winning sommelier Eric Zwiebel. Dorset 'Restaurant of the Year' winner 2007.
