Open for just seven months of the year, Summer Isles is nothing short of magical. The cool-coloured restaurant features art by ex-owner Gerry Irvine. Dinner’s five courses might begin with langoustines and spiny lobster with hollandaise sauce; warm scallop mousse; fried crab cake with cucumber or filo parcel of monkfish with tamarind sauce. Main courses might include the likes of grilled Lochinver halibut with local mussels and saffron; Shetland salmon with pesto or a rib of Aberdeen Angus beef with wild mushrooms and red wine sauce. Choose chocolate roulade or bread and butter pudding from the charmingly antiquated sweet trolley. Additionally feast upon the array of British Cheeses.
