Overlooking Llandudno’s Victorian pier and gardens, the restaurant of this splendid seaside hotel has a magic all of its own thanks to an elaborate tented ceiling with chandeliers, Lake Como murals and plush, lush furnishings. Chef Andrew Williams's menu makes good use of local deafood, beef and lamb. Start your meal here with a chicken and leek ravioli in a light chicken consommé, home-cured salmon innovatively matched with celery, shallots and vanilla seeds or boudin of foie gras with raspberries and bitter chocolate. Welsh beef comes with a braised short rib pie, seared scallops with buttered lettuce. Hot berry soufflé or vanilla pannacotta with rhubarb is a fitting finish.
