Terrace Restaurant

While Llandudno’s charming promenade and Victorian pier couldn’t be more British, there’s a touch of Mediterranean glamour at St Tudno’s much-praised restaurant. Large murals of Lake Como, a tinkling fountain and elaborate chandeliers make for a whimsical dining experience, while Welsh ingredients are given a European twist in starters such as white onion ‘soubise’ soup with chorizo oil and local rabbit parcels. Follow up with steamed salmon with a citrus veloute or the obligatory Welsh lamb with rosemary fondant and port wine jus. Make sure to leave room for the bara brith ice cream, which accompanies a cranberry and clementine cobbler. Weekenders are often persuaded to extend their trip when they browse the restaurant’s Sunday lunch set menu, which takes in beef, pork, lamb and chicken.
