The Seafood Restaurant

This smartly converted harbour side pub serves up some fresh seafood and cracking best sea views. The design here is less minimal than at sister Seafood restaurant in St Andrews but just as elegant, with high- backed Rene Mackintosh-style chairs at white linen clad tables. Begin with smoked haddock rarebit with creamed leeks and pancetta followed by grilled fillet of turbot polenta cake, oyster mushroom ragoût and sauce vierge. Despite the name, the menu isn’t exclusively seafood and more carnivorous appetites will be sated by duck confit with puy lentils, onion marmalade and rosemary syrup. The wine list is full of interesting fish-friendly bottles such as Riesling Kabinett Scharzhofberger from Egon Müller.
