Dower House

Bang in the centre of Bath’s iconic Royal Crescent, Dower House couldn’t have a finer address. Wander through the hotel and its gorgeous hidden gardens to the newly refurbished restaurant, swathed in tones of olive and taupe. Ask for a comfortable, corner banquette table for a great view of the room (you might even spot a visiting celeb or two that stay in the hotel’s opulent suites). Begin with oak smoked Scottish salmon carved table side served with horseradish cream and caraway bread. Follow with a twist on a classic French fish stew in the form of dorade royale and red mullet with braised fennel, saffron potatoes and bouillabaise sauce or a simple but delicious beef fillet with creamed leeks and Cabernet Sauvignon shallot jus.
