Roman Camp Country House

This country house hotel is set in twenty acres of Trossachs National Park land on the banks of the river Teith. Lit by candlelight, the romantic, opulent dining room features very well spaced, skirted tables covered with linen. A resolutely French a la carte menu might begin with onion and garlic soup with frog leg and artichoke fricassee and caraway lemon oil and continue with breast of Goosnargh duckling with leg confit ravioli and sauté foie gras. A set daily changing four course dinner menu might feature red wine poached turbot with mushroom and leek fricassee; haricot blanc soup with braised ham hock; loin of lamb with artichokes and slow roast tomatoes and coriander jus and dark chocolate brownie with sweet pistachio chantilly cream.
