Gordon Ramsay no less is a fan of this fine dining restaurant in Edinburgh’s trendy docklands area. The recently refurbished dining room is a quiet riot in shades of brown and cream making it one of Scotland’s chicest addresses. The eponymous Mr Wishart's cooking is as accomplished and ambitious as you might expect from someone who has trained with some of Europe’s best chefs. Precise modern French dishes lean towards classic combinations such as braised shin and short rib of beef with veal sweetbreads and mushroom ravioli although more adventurous diners might opt for poached pigeon with squid risotto and oyster rissole. Vegetarians are catered for with a separate a la carte menu and a tasting menu also available on request.
