Quartier Vert
At the forefront of the organic movement for nearly two decades, chef Barny Haughton has created his own small "green district" in Bristol's upmarket Clifton area. Organic bread is made in the on site bakery to accompany the unapologetically rustic pan-Mediterranean menu. Start with a hearty bowl of the Italian bread soup Ribollita with pesto or travel to the South West of France for duck confit with an original blood orange risotto with marjoram. Main courses might include a robustly flavoured Pan-fried red mullet with Volos olive crushed potatoes, rocket & sauce vierge or a more delicate Blanquette of rose veal with carrots & Nicola potatoes. Quatier Vert also encompasses a cookery school and café bar serving a tapas style menu.
