Plas Bodegroes
When there’s Barabrith and butter pudding with Welsh whisky ice cream on the menu, you know you’re in Wales - the beautiful Llyn peninsula in North West Wales to be exact. This picture postcard perfect Georgian manor house and gardens has been home to Chris and Gunna Chown for over two decades and is now established as one of the country’s leading restaurants. Duck-egg blue walls, linen and French doors leading to a verandah give the dining a refined, yet relaxed feel. The menu of local, seasonal cooking might include warm salad of monkfish, Carmarthen ham and mushrooms followed by chargrilled ribeye of Welsh Black beef with oxtail sauce. Finish with a delicate cinnamon biscuit of rhubarb and apple with elderflower custard.
