Petersham Nurseries Café
Chef Skye Gyngell heads the kitchen of this delightful venue; a café situated in a green house decorated with pot plants and garden furniture. Inspired by the pioneering organic Californian chef Alice Waters, Gyngell adheres to the mantra of seasonal produce sourced from small farmers and producers in the UK and Italy. Poached skate with fennel, aioli and rocket; clams with potato and fennel and shaved courgette flowers with aged Parmesan may feature on the concise menu. Main courses allow ingredients to sing in simple combinations such as guinea fowl and chard with salsa; wild seabass and samphire; beef fillet with red wine lentils and native lobster with coconut, lime and curry leaves.
