Glass screens etched with double Michelin starred executive chef Michael Caines's MC logo, stylish high-backed chairs in taupe and dark grey pinstripe and polished hardwood floors let you know this is no ordinary hotel dining room. Head Chef Craig Dunn's menu of highly accomplished modern European cooking highlights South West ingredients such as Brixham scallops with lemon purée, niçoise olive rounds and 'Rowswell's farm' confit violet potatoes or best end and shoulder of Devonshire lamb with la ratte potatoes, ratatouille and a garlic, parsley and lemon 'sauce gremolata'. The excellent cheese board includes local selections such as the superb Keens cheddar.
