Marco Pierre White's Yew Tree Inn

Although Marco Pierre White might be the most talented chef of his generation, he’s more likely to be out shooting game for the menu than behind the stoves at his 17th century inn. It seems wrong to call it a pub when the very proper dining room comes complete with an Art Deco mirrored screen, linen covered tables and leather banquette seating. Longstanding Marco fans will welcome the presence of familiar dishes such as chou farci à l’ancienne, coulis de tomate (stuffed cabbage with tomato sauce) and fillet of cod à la Viennoise with sabayon of mustard. But the long menu covers all the bases with Dover sole, lobster and steak served a variety of ways and even Marco’s take on shepherd's pie.
