The River Restaurant

This glamorous, contemporary riverside restaurant in the heart of Manchester is home to chef Oliver Thomas' very British take on modern fine dining. For example, Leagram’s soft Lancashire cheese is paired with wild duck breast and blueberries for a delicate and unusual starer, while The very best black pudding from Bury accompanies an earthy dish of scallops and cauliflower puree. Main courses might feature pan-fried cod with baby gem lettuce, peas, broad beans and Manchester smokehouse bacon, or simple grills including a kilo Cheshire Belgium Blue porterhouse steak, served for two people of course! They take wine here seriously, so look out for the regular exclusive wine dinners highlighting some of the world's great producers such as Dom Perignon.
