El Gato Negro Tapas

Where can you find some of the best tapas in the country? In a converted village pub in West Yorkshire of course! Chef Simon Shaw keeps an eye on the latest tapas with regular visits to Spain and brings interesting produce such as the Mallorcan cured spicy sausage sobrasada back with him. The long menu is handily divided under headings to allow for easy navigation. Bar snacks might include Boquerones (fresh anchovies) on toast with olive and chilli salsa while meat tapas could mean mini Catalan chorizo cooked in red wine. The lighter-than-air potato, onion and spinach tortillas from the vegetarian selection are a must try. Around seven to ten plates shared between two would sate most appetites.
