Hotel Endsleigh
This 19th century shooting and fishing lodge has been sensitively converted by designer Olga Polizzi. The beautiful wood paneled dining room with its views over the grounds is a decidedly chintz free zone and sets an elegant, restrained stage for chef Nick Fisher’s confident cooking. Lovers of seafood will appreaciate the pairing of lemon sole with in a starter adventerously completed by spiced lentils, bitter orange purée, and lemon oil while roast quail gets a more classic garnish of celeriac tart fine, figs, Denhay ham and sherry vinegar jus. Fisher showcases locally sourced ingredients in the form of Creedy Carver duck with foie gras ravioli, dressed watercress, asparagus, vanilla and port jus.
