What was a run down local pub at the far end of the high street has become a culinary beacon for the delightful Georgian town of Marlow. With IPA on tap and big, chunky wooden tables there's a comfortingly rustic feel to the place. There's complaints if the rich and shockingly good signature glazed omelette of smoked haddock and parmesan ever leaves the menu, but dishes like tenderloin of pork with homemade Toulouse sausage and truffle macaroni are equally delicious. Although the food reaches the gastronomic heights, this is a restaurant with its feet still on the ground. The fish and chips have won awards and Sunday roasts are not to be missed. When the sun shines, grab a table on the small outdoor terrace.
