Set in beautifully maintained grounds overlooking Rutland Water, Hambleton Hall is a country house hotel to make you swoon. An extensive kitchen garden supplies herbs and vegetables for award winning chef Aaron Patterson's seasonal menu. Delicately flavoured Pyrenean lamb might come three ways: poached shoulder, roast loin and braised leg served with the liver, kidneys and baby carrots and turnips from the garden. A generous array of puds including soufflés, sorbets and savarins make up the unmissable assiette of desserts. In Autumn the kitchen excels in serving locally shot game. The award-winning wine list is a delight at all levels.
