Take the glass lift to this second floor restaurant in Glasgow’s Glass House where there’s a strikingly elegant Conran interior and contemporary approach to food waiting for you. But it is far from being all modern smoke and mirrors. There’s real substance to new chef Neil Clark’s Modern Scottish menu. Glazed Loch Fyne oysters with tarragon and parsley or braised pig’s cheek partnered with a carrot and ginger purée might feature alongside Peterhead halibut with mussels and Gressingham duck with a fashionable white bean casserole. Neil is no slouch at desserts either; try an imaginative rhubarb crumble tart served with a ginger granita and clotted cream. Wines start at £20.
