Over the past seven years, owners John Morris and Tracey Honeysett have built a solid reputation for their Surrey farmhouse style property. There’s countryside views from the lemon yellow coloured dining room that’s punctuated by blue wine glasses against white linen. There’s a strong French influence to the imaginative cooking here; diver-caught scallops are served in the form of a tart tatin and come with a light langoustine sabayon sauce while a gamey noisette of Balmoral venison is accompanied by fondant potato and red wine jus. But there’s plenty of exotic spice too. Try sweet potato soup with chorizo pancakes or a tian of crab and creamed coconut with spice coated soft shell crab and curry oil.
