Le Champignon Sauvage

You can be confident that it will be double Michelin starred chef David Everitt-Matthias himself that cooks your wood pigeon with tortelloni of snails and nettles. In the twenty years he has run the restaurant with wife Helen, he has never missed a lunch or dinner service. That's just one reason why off duty chefs and foodies from around the country flock to this modern and elegant wood panelled dining room. An even better reason is for the impeccably cooked food that incorporates unusual ingredients like wood sorrel and cockscombs. You simply won't find dishes like red mullet with carpaccio of beetroot, roasted buckwheat salad, salted orange and feta cheese anywhere else in the country. The well chosen and good value wine list offers plenty of choice below £30.
