Keith and Nicola Braidwood’s unassuming whitewashed cottage in rural Scotland is something of a foodie magnet. You’ll find off duty chefs amongst the regulars in the smart and recently refurbished dining room. They appreciate the couple’s efforts to source the best Scottish produce for dishes such as seared hand dived Isle of Mull scallops served with an Indian influenced cardmom, lentil, tomato and coriander sauce. Fish from the west coast might include a baked fillet of turbot with smoked salmon risotto and Avruga caviar sauce. Local game is always available when in season. Scotland’s wonderful soft fruits are a feature of simple but delicious desserts such as vanilla panacotta with a chilled tayberry soup.
