Black Boys Inn

In one of the most beautiful parts of the Chilterns, the Black Boys Inn specialises in French home cooking as evolved by women chefs, the famous 'Méres de Lyons', over the past two centuries: simple - and simply delicious - dishes prepared with passion and great generosity of spirit. Heading the team at the Black Boys Inn are Head Chef Simon Bonwick. To sustain the unchallenged level of truly bourgeois cooking, they buy the finest ingredients ever week from the Rungis Market in Paris; fresh fish come very day form Newlyn, Cornwall; and everything else from handpicked local suppliers. To round off your meal, there are superb cheeses from La Fromagerie and wonderfully subtle puddings. As for wine, Adrian has masterminded an adventurous wine list - with over 40 of them available by the glass. Impressive awards include a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the last three consecutive years and the only Berkshire restaurant-with-rooms to be featured in both the 2008 Good Food Guide and the 2008 Good Hotel Guide.
