Artisan and Catch
There’s two distinct dining experiences on offer at this two storey restaurant on the outskirts of the city centre. Upstairs, Catch offers simple seafood while on the ground floor, chef and owner Richard Smith has adopted the increasingly popular concept of a “bistro de lux”. Light wood chairs and tables, mirrors and plenty of natural light give Catch a breezy atmosphere in which to enjoy half a dozen oysters with shallot vinegar or mussels á la creme. In Artisan, dark wood paneling, chocolate brown banquettes and dark stained wood floors lend a sophisticated feel to the dining room where there’s grown up treats like roast foie gras, caramelized oranges, pink peppercorns and brioche on the menu.
