Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor

In summer 2008, loyal chef Simon Radley finally got top billing at the restaurant he's been associated with for over 20 years. A complete refurbishment has rid the former Arkle dinning room of its racing associations and replaced them with a sleek, luxurious interior in tasteful shades of beige. As the serious prices suggest, this is serious food with plenty of posh ingredients scattered liberally around the menu. There's caviar to garnish a dish of 'oysters and pearls' made with warm scallop and fennel panna cotta with poached oysters, while a truffle salad adds savour to a blanquette of Limousin veal. The 1000 bin wine list, one of the largest in the country, should satisfy even the most discerning of connoisseurs.
