Where is The Airds Hotel & Restaurant located?

How to find us

The Airds is in Port Appin with stunning views overlooking Loch Linnhe and the Morvern Mountains; located in North West Argyll, in the romantic Highlands of Scotland.

We are best reached by car and train - Connel Ferry train station is 27km away, whilst the closest local airport is at Connel.  The closest international airports are Glasgow International (160km) and Edinburgh International (190km).

We can also land helicopters in the garden.  The co-ordinates required for helicopter landings are No 56 33' 26" W"5 24' 44"  Please advise us prior to your arrival in order for us to prepare everything for you.

For private aircraft, Oban airport is situated just off the A828 by the village of North Connel 27km from the hotel and some 6kms from the centre of Oban.  Turn left out of the airport along the A828 and after 24kms take the left turn signposted Port Appin.  The hotel is 2.5kms on the left hand side.

Driving from Glasgow - take the M8 west, across the Erskine Bridge and turn left onto the A82. At Tarbert turn right (still on the A82) and carry on to Crianlarich.  At Crianlarich turn left and continue all the way to Ballachulish.  At the mini roundabout take the A828 to Oban and in Appin turn right at the 'Port Appin/Lismore Ferry' sign.  The hotel is 2.5kms down the single track road and is on the left hand side.

Driving from Edinburgh - take the M9 towards Stirling.  Follow the A84 and head towards Crianlarich (A82) and then carry on to Ballachulish.  At the mini roundabout take the A828 towards Oban and after 26kms turn right at the 'Port Appin/Lismore Ferry' sign.  The hotel is 2.5kms down the single track road and is on the left hand side.

Reputed to b e one of the best in Scotland serving the very best of locally caught seafood and local meat. The hotel serves a seasonal menu in its 3 rosette restaurant and the hotel has also been awarded a god award with Visit Scotland.

The hotel is open for morning coffee, lunch, full afternoon tea and dinner to non residents.
