Elizabeth Castle

Elizabeth Castle, built on an islet in St Aubin´s Bay, defended Jersey for over 300 years. The castle today houses three permanent exhibitions; War and Peace, which tells the story of the garrison, Granite and Gunpowder tracing the development of the cannon and the story of the Jersey Militia. Time your visit to include the noonday ´call to arms´ by Gunner Gilman which is followed by the firing of the castle cannon. Take the anphibious ferry, at high or low tide, across from West Park slip to the castle daily throughout the summer season.
