Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery


Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery was built in 1824, this Georgian castellated mansion was originally home to the Crawshay family and is set in 160 acres of parkland. The collections include extensive 20th century fine art with many Welsh artists, local history, costume collection, and brass instruments. Also on display are superb decorative arts including ceramics from Nantgarw, Swansea, Sevres, Pinxton and early Wedgwood, silver, glass and miniatures. There is an Egyptology collection along with many artefacts from the ancient Egyptians. Temporary exhibitions are held regularly.
