North Lanarkshire Archives Centre

Motherwell Heritage Centre is now the North Lanarkshire Archives Centre. It still has its gallery space, currently with a spring exhibition about local industries and their contribution to civil engineering around the world. The new archives centre will re-open in April 2012, with a brand-new research facility. Visitors welcomed for all sorts of local studies and family histories. For planning enquiries and submissions, photographs and old maps of mine workings and former industrial sites can be reproduced. You can also take in the view of the Clyde Valley from the fifth-floor viewing platform and then select a gift or memento from the shop.
