Cartwright Hall Art Gallery

Cartwright Hall Art Gallery was built in 1904 as an art gallery. This stunning building houses a notable permanent collection of 19th and 20th century British Art. The Transcultural Gallery houses a collection of art from the Indian sub-continent and South Asia that reflects the cultural mix that makes Bradford unique. Also on display are sumptuous Indian silks, contempoary Sikh art, embroideries and a portrait of Guru Nanak. There are four galleries in all and the upper galleries display the permanent collections with paintings, sculpture and decorative arts, and the lower galleries host temporary exhibitions.
