Ryedale Folk Museum


A warm welcome for everyone! As you step through the entrance of the Ryedale Folk Museum you will be transported back in time. Take a walk through the site and learn about the history of North Yorkshire from centuries past. Over 20 buildings on a 5 acre site offers something for everyone. The Museum has many attractions including a 1950s village shop, a working Blacksmiths, an Elizabethan Manor House, A Crofters Cottage and the Iron Age Roundhouse, built using the exact techniques of Iron Age man - Mud, Horse Hair, Wood and Straw were used to construct this dwelling. The Museum also has livestock and gardens, come and feed the pigs and chickens! Ryedale Folk Museum also has farm machinery, a maze, a Victorian classroom, witches hovel, photo studio and much more. There are activities happening on site, especially through school holidays and special events throughout the year.

Opening Times: All year, Daily, 10:00-17:30/dusk. Last admission one hour prior to closing. Closed 7 Dec to 16 Jan 2010.
Admission: (Gift Aid Prices) Adult £7.00, Child (4-16) £6.00, Under 4s Free, OAP/Student £6.50, Family (2+2) £22.50. Group rates available. Season Ticket - Family of 4 £50.00 (Come as often as you want for a year)
Child Friendly:  Children of all ages welcome
Dog Friendly: Dogs Permitted (All dogs on leads)
Location: Located in the centre of Hutton le Hole. Clearly signposted from the A170.
