Black Country Living Museum

Black Country Living Museum was established in 1975 to collect, preserve, research and display items relating to the social and industrial history of the Black Country. The collection of well over 40,000 items ranges from hand made nails to whole buildings. Together, the mine, the school and the many houses, shops and workshops were built to represent the Black Country when it was the heart of industrial Britain. A recent addition is a collection of cars and motorcycles made in Wolverhampton, an important centre of the automotive industry in the 1920s and 30s. There are over 42 separate displays that make up this open air Museum.
