Pitt Rivers Museum


Pitt Rivers Museum is famous for its unusual Victorian atmosphere and outstanding collections of unusual and beautiful objects from all over the world. Founded in 1884 with the collection given by Lt General Pitt Rivers. The displays are ethnographical and archaeological and include carvings, Native American and arctic clothing, Hawaiian feather cloaks, masks, magical objects, amulets and charms, and much more. All of the displays are arranged according to type, to see how similar items are produced at different times by different people.
