Shipley Art Gallery

The Shipley Art Gallery combines a dazzling display of jewellery, ceramics, textiles and furniture alongside stunning historical artworks. Over 700 breathtaking pieces by the county´s leading craft makers and a collection of paintings including Dutch and Flemish old masters, along with fine art including William Irving´s painting `The Blaydon Races´. The fascinating history of the town is told in `Made in Gateshead´ which traces the history and people and their skills. There are regular temporary exhibitions and events.
