Discover the Life of Roman Solider at Chesters Fort & Museum on Hadrian's Wall
Part of Hadrian’s Wall and built in 122-123AD, Chesters Fort & Museum is the best-preserved Roman cavalry fort in Britain and allows visitors to explore officers’ quarters and the well-preserved baths and steam room. Inside the museum there is a treasure trove of Roman items unearthed during the excavation of Hadrian’s wall including the Clayton Collection of altars and sculptures.

Opening Times: 28 Mar to 30 Sept 15 Daily, 10:00-18:00. 1 Oct to 1 Nov, Daily, 10:00-17:00. 2 Nov to 14 Feb 16, Sat & Sun 10:00-16:00. Closed 24-26 Dec, 28 Dec, 31 Dec & 1 Jan16. 20 Feb to 24 Mar Sat & Sun 10:00-16:00. Please see our website for 25 Mar onwards
Admission: Member Free, Adult £6.20, Child (5-15 years) £3.70, Concession £5.60, Family (2 adults, 3 children) £16.10
Child Friendly:  Children of all ages welcome
Dog Friendly: Dogs Permitted (Must be kept on lead at all times, not permitted in Museum)
Location: Quarter mile west of Chollerford on B6318.
