Chesters Fort & Museum
Chesters Fort & Museum was built around 122-123AD and located along Hadrian´s Wall, this is one of the best-preserved examples of a cavalry fort in Britain. Many parts are still visible, including the barracks and the headquarters building with some of the original paving still in position. Famous for its finely preserved bath house, which was also used for eating, drinking and gaming with its cold rooms, warm rooms and hot rooms. The Museum houses the important Clayton Collection of altars and sculptures along with many excavated finds.
