Set in the heart of the National Forest on the site of a former colliery, Snibston explores the impact of science, industry, technology, art and history on our lives with over 90 indoor and outdoor interactive exhibits. Lift a car in our hands-on Extra Ordinary Gallery, or see the amazing collection of historic and contemporary costumes in the award winning Fashion Gallery. Join real life miners on a tour of the colliery and experience what it was like to work underground, or take a ride on a diesel locomotive. The 200 seater mobile Century Theatre hosts an exciting schedule of events, films and activities. The 64 acre country park which neighbours Snibston is FREE to enter. The park has a diverse range of wildlife habitats including ponds, fishing lakes, beautiful picnic spots and the Grange Nature Reserve. Please see our website for further details.
