The Burton Art Gallery & Museum
The Burton Art Gallery & Museum was originally opened by local businessman Thomas Burton and his friend, artist Hubert Coop in 1951, in memory of Burton´s daughter Mary. After major refurbishment in 1994, the building now has three exhibition areas, Bideford Museum, craft gallery, gift shop and workshop area. The permanent collection of watercolours and oil paintings by artists such as Coop, Clausen, Fisher and Reynolds, to name but a few, is complemented by a quality exhibition programme featuring national and local artists. The CafÄ du Parc offers hot and cold meals, pastries and cakes on a daily basis.
