Tate Liverpool

Tate Liverpool is one of the largest galleries of modern and contemporary art outside London. Housed in a beautiful converted warehouse in the historic Albert Dock, one of the finest groups of nineteenth-century industrial buildings anywhere. Home of the National Collection of Modern Art in the North, Tate Liverpool displays work selected from the Tate Collection, and special exhibitions, which bring together artwork loaned from around the world. Tate Liverpool opened in 1988 and was created to share the Tate Collection with the North of England. It has also played a part in the regeneration of Liverpool following its drastic decline as a port in the 1960s.
