Cumberland Pencil Museum

Visit Keswick´s Cumberland Pencil Museum, the home of the first pencil, and the Cumberland Pencil Co, home of pencil perfection since 1832. Walk through a replica of the Seathwaite mine, where graphite was first discovered. Trace the history of pencil manufacture over the last 350 years and see how we make Derwent Fine Art pencils today. Be amazed at the world´s longest colour pencil, over 25ft and try out some of our latest products. Events and exhibitions are held in the museum throughout the year. Check our website for details www.pencils.co.uk.
