Lady Lever Art Gallery
Lady Lever Art Gallery was founded in 1922 and houses the magnificent personal collection of the first Lord Leverhulme in memory of his wife. The Gallery includes Pre-Raphaelite paintings by Sir John Everett and Dante Gabriel Rossetti, paintings by British artists Turner and Constable alongside 18th century portraits by Gainsborough and Reynolds. Also on display is fine 18th century furniture, Chinese ceramics, Wedgwood, sculpture, tapestries and Napoleonic memorabilia. Regular temporary exhibitions are held.
