Northampton Museum & Art Gallery
The Northampton Museum & Art Gallery houses Northampton´s famous collection of boots and shoes, the largest in the world. The displays show the history of shoemaking and how fashions have changed over a hundred years, with examples that include designs by Manolo Blahnik, Salvatore Ferragamo and Vivienne Westwood. Also on display is the history of Northampton from the Stone Age to the present day. Other collections include Oriental and British ceramics, an important collection of Italian 15th to 18th century paintings and British art. Regular events include talks and temporary exhibitions.
