Whipple Museum of the History of Science
Whipple Museum of the History of Science is housed in a large hall that was built in 1618. The Museum holds a pre-eminent collection of scientific instruments and models, dating from the Middle Ages to the present. Microscopes and telescopes, sundials, early slide rules, pocket electronic calculators, teaching and demonstration apparatus, as well as laboratory equipment, are included in this outstanding collection. Part of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, the Museum plays an important role in the Department“s teaching and research.
