Imperial War Museum Duxford
The Imperial War Museum at Duxford is Europe´s premier aviation museum which stands on a wartime airfield and is home to a unique and fascinating collection of aircraft and military exhibits. On display is one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and artillery in the country, as well as 200 aircraft including the legendary Spitfire, Lancaster, Concorde and the amazing SR-71 Blackbird spy plane. The American Air Museum houses the largest collection of US aircraft outside of America, including the beautifully restored B-24 Liberator, and stands as a memorial to the 30000 US airmen who gave their lives while flying from British bases during the Second World War.
