National Railway Museum


The National Railway Museum, is the world´s largest railway museum encompassing a wide range of railway icons and millions of artefacts. Home to over 100 engines from Mallard, the world´s fastest steam locomotive, to Eurostar, and the Shinkansen Bullet Train, the only one to go on display outside Japan. Also on display are items of rolling stock, photographs, documents and pictures which tell the story of the train. The permanent displays include `Palaces on Wheels´ with royal saloons dating back to Victorian times, with their sumptuous rooms. There is a programme of ever changing special events.
