Chesterholm Museum - Vindolanda


Chesterholm Museum - Vindolanda is a Roman Frontier military and civilian site, which has been the location of extensive excavation for over 30 years with archaeologists on site. Vindolanda also offers an Open Air Museum featuring replicas of a Roman Temple, Roman Shop and House. The extensive Museum houses finds from the site that includes Roman boots and shoes, leather, glass, jewellery, pottery, textiles and tools along with special photographs of the rare ink on wood tablets written nearly 2000 years ago.
