Wollaton Hall & Park/Natural History Museum

Wollaton Hall & Park/Natural History Museum stands on a natural hill 3 miles west of Nottingham City centre. This sensational Elizabethan house was designed by Robert Smythson and completed in 1588 and set in a scenic 500 acre historic park. Inside, the central hall is surrounded by suites or rooms. The facade is one of the most dramatic in England with four towers that guard each corner. The hall holds the Natural History Museum whilst the Wollaton Park 18th century Stable is home to the Visitors Centre, Industrial Museum and Yard Gallery. An extensive programme of restoration was completedon the Hall and Park at Easter 2007. New galleries have been created and existing ones refurbished. The Tudor Kitchens provide an interactive experience and for the first time visitors have access to the Prospect room at the top of the Hall.
