Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum

Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum houses Cheltenham´s Arts and Crafts Movement collection of furniture, textiles, ceramics, carvings, silver and jewellery, recognised as an outstanding collection of international importance. Cheltenham´s history is also well represented, and in addition there are paintings spanning four centuries, with exceptional Dutch and Flemish paintings that were given to the Gallery by Baron de Ferrieres in 1898. Also Oriental collections of pottery and costume, and archaeological treasures from the neighbouring Cotswolds. A small gallery is devoted to the Antarctic explorer Edward Wilson who died in 1912. A programme of special exhibitions changes regularly throughout the year.
