Ipswich Museum


Ipswich Museum was founded in 1847, the Museum´s exhibitions include the Romans in Suffolk, Anglo-Saxons in Ipswich, mankind galleries, local and world geology and a Victorian natural history gallery. Among the displays of Suffolk wildlife is a life sized reconstruction of a woolly mammoth. There is also a display of Sikh culture that includes weapons, armour and a Sikh battle flag from the Battle of Chillianwala in the Anglo-Sikh war of 1848. Other displays are the Story of Ipswich from the Ice Age and Ipswich at War in the World Wars I & II.
