Chelmsford Museum & the Essex Regiment Museum

Chelmsford Museum & the Essex Regiment Museum was founded in 1835. This local history Museum features `The Story of Chelmsford´ exhibition. The history of Chelmsford and its people is told through displays that include geology, Natural History, costumes and coins. Also on display are fine and decorative arts represented by regionally based artists, and the Tunstall Bequest of 18th century drinking glasses. The Essex Regiment Museum is on the same site with its many displays and tells the story of the local county regiment. Both Museums have regular temporary displays and events.
